2007 SPORTING REGULATIONS
1. GENERAL
All events in the Group ‘C ‘ Touring Car Association’s competition will be conducted under the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA, the National Competition Rules of the Confederation of Motor Sport (CAMS), The Race Meeting Standing Regulations published for the Series, and the Supplementary Regulations published by the promoter of each race. CAMS reserves the right to vary these regulations should it deem appropriate without notice. A copy of these rules will be issued to each registered competitor on receipt of a completed registration form accompanied by the payment of the required fee.

The following regulations will be used to determine the association’s annual championship and the newly created Peter Brock Perpetual Trophy, which will see 2 new (Group C & Group A) trophies added to the annual awards.
2. ELIGIBILITY
* Cars must be runin their original Group “C” or “ A “ trim.
* Member of the Group “C” Touring Car Association Limited.
* Must be registered for the series and have paid the required fee
All cars must run with their association Registered Race Number
* 0 -- 1300cc ( Group C )
* 1301cc - 1600cc ( Group C )
* 1601cc - 2000cc ( Group C )
* 0 – 2000cc ( Group A )
* 2001cc - 3000cc ( Group C & A )
* 3001cc and over ( Group C & A )
* Cars fitted with Turbo chargers will have the capacity calculated using the formula, ( multiply measured capacity ) x 1.7, as per CAMS 2007 Manual ( Classification of Cars) section 4.5 Item 13
(1) Those fitted with 12a rotary bridge port type engines shall be classified and run in under 3000cc category
(2) Cars running 13b rotary peripheral port type engines with either carburation or injection shall be classified and run in the 3000cc and over category
Note. : Organisers and/or the Association reserve the right to combine classes when less than 3 entries are entered at a meeting
4. POINTSCORE
Points will be awarded to all registered competitors as follows:
* 3, 2, 1, for outright places
* 9, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, for each class
* 6, 4, For each class containing two (2) only cars
* 4, for each class containing one (1) only car
* For registering for the series prior to Round 1 – one (1) bonus point
* For travelling interstate to a race meet – one (1) bonus point
* For travelling interstate (2 States ) to a race meet – three (3) bonus points
* For qualifying at the race meet – one (1) bonus point.
* For starting in the race – one (1) bonus point
* For finishing in the race – one (1) bonus point
* Over 2000cc class but under 3000cc class, cars receive 3, 2, 1 points if they finish first, second or third outright.
* Up to 2000cc class cars receive 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1 point if they finish, first, second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth outright.
* Over 3000cc class - no further bonus points
* Drivers will be allowed to drop their worst Race result, provided they entered and ran at all the nominated race meetings
(4a) The Peter Brock Perpetual Trophy (2) (Additional points)
* For the best prepared / presented car in both categories, points will be awarded on the basis of , the best (10), down to (1), all cars to receive points. This will be judged by a chosen panel of 3 at each meeting
For the age of the car, given there is nearly 2 decades, ie 1973 to 1992, and to assist those with a car representing the earlier years of their category, the following formula’s will be applied based on the year they
represent,
(1) a 1973 model car will receive a multiplier of x 1.5 on its overall points down to a multiplier of x1 for a 1984 model ( Group C ).
( 2) from 1985 the points multiplier will diminish from x1 down to x0.5 for a 1992 model (Group A ).
Any competitors vehicle found to be non compliant with log book, Cof D and or the vehicles homologation documents and or is found to have infringed and is subject of any penalty by officials of the meeting will not benefit by receiving any points for that meeting in the championship.
6. TROPHIES
* The Peter Brock Perpetual T rophy’s ( Group C & Group A ) will be awarded following the completion of our competition year in association with the Peter Brock Foundation.
* The Association’s annual trophies will be awarded following the completion of the competition year for the following,
(1) Winner Outright Group C
(2) Winner Outright Group A
(3) Winner 0 – 1300cc Group C
(4) Winner 1301cc -1600cc Group C
(5) Winner 1601cc – 2000cc Group C
(6) Winner 2001cc – 3000cc Group C
(7) Winner over 3000cc Group C
(8) Winner 0 –2000cc Group A
(9) Winner 2001cc – 3000cc Group A
(10) Winner over 3000cc Group A
The Club Champion is presented with the National Motor Racing Museum Trophy which is a Perpetual Trophy retained by the association and adorned with a small nameplate showing the details of the winning car and driver for that year .A small copy of the trophy will be given to the winner to retain.
The scheduled amount of races and the total distance and or number of Laps, will be determined by the promoters.
Race 1.
Grid positions for race 1 will be determined by qualifying times.
Race 2
Grid positions for Race 2 and subsequent races will be determined by the promoter, and will be either progressive or as per qualifying.
9. MULTIPLE DRIVERS
Should more than one person drive any car in a round of the championship, no points will be awarded to either driver in the championship. Their round will be disregarded for points.
10. DETERMINATION OF RESULTS
Drivers will be awarded points against the relevant classification for their car in each race, and the aggregate achieved by each driver will become the championship points for that round.
