Patto,
I like the 87 livery as that what I always remember Bob Holden cars to look like.
I think the signwriter can copy that pretty easily.

I've got more photos, but I don't know how to add them from my hard drive, it appears this forum only allows weblinks.

I had my heart set on the 1990 livery, because that was the year the car was most active in the ATCC and also, I think it will be super easy for the painter. But, I still can't get a photo from 1990 and I'm worried the car will look to plain and boring. I'm warming to the 1987 livery and i'm sure the signwriter will have no trouble doing the lettering and logoes, will he Shane? My only concern with the 1987 livery is the extra masking to paint the stripes and lower sections.

Hi Patto,

Me personally think the 1987 livery looks more like a race car, all white looks like a club car.

Talk to Frank Binding about painting and masking, sure it is a little more work but really worth the effort. Any good painter can get a great finish even lines and smooth finish. All you need to do is work out were to start and finish the lines from the photos you have.

Reading other posts, it is still important to consider when the car had the most development and ran the quickest so you are not left behind on the track against the other 1600's in todays category. Look at your homologation papers and work out what you can squeeze into the 1987 car and still comply. Talk to Bob Holden and John Smith, they might still remember!!

My recollection of the RWD Sprinters between 1987 and 1990 there was not much in chassis development other than brakes and more robust internal engine and gear box bits from TRD which are still available today. Compare track times between the years your car ran to see where it picked up pace.

Good luck with it all.

Cheers, Willofan

David, definitely 1987. I thought that 1990 had bought some bad ju ju like rev limits etc to Corollas? 1987 and earlier is how everyone will remember the Bob Holden sprinters and it will be much easier to get proof for the C of D, yet it is late enough in the Group A era to have got rid of inlet manifold and factory airboxes etc.

Good point,
It is probably a serious consideration dave as to the spec the car will have to run by the livery you present. I would love to do my car OXO but cant use 9 inch so will be Caltex. The '87 livery photo looks the best i reckon Dave.

I believe my car ran the same mech. spec. from 1986 - 1991, so I'm OK there.

Patto,
The 86 bathurst livery has Alcol carpets on t which is a Bathurst business that is still operating today. The driver Nightingale i am assuming is Brian Nightingale who is a bathurst local. I know how to get in touch with Brian. I could see if he has any more pics if you decide to use that livery.
