Hi all, I'm looking for any video of Grp C - either from the original period or recent events like MCM at E Creek - to use in a TV commercial to promote next Easter at Bathurst. My home email is davidncd@tpg.com.au Dave Nichols, Festival of Sporting Cars.

Hi All
Don't wait until the last minute to put your entries in as the organisers need to make arangements ASAP. This can't be done until the majority of entries are in.

Regards
Frank Binding.

Guys,

I reckon this is a not to be missed opportunity.

I raced at Mt Panorama for the 1st time earlier this year, in the Improved Production support races to the 12 hour in February. Racing around there is an unforgettable experience, and doing it in a Group C (or A) is going to be nigh on a spiritual experience!

If we don't support this event, and our category gets pulled, when will be the next opportunity that Group C/A get invited back?

Sure the place has an intimidating reputation, but if you take a sensible approach to the track, it's no more daunting than some of the other circuits we race on.

A couple of weeks prior to the IP race I went up there and met up with a fellow racer who knew the circuit well. We spent a morning undertaking a track walk. We drove to each corner around the circuit, got out of the car and talked through driving lines and markers.

Following the detailed review of the track sections, we then drove around the circuit at low (legal) speed many times checking the notes I'd made and getting a feel for the markers from behind the wheel.

This made a huge difference to my confidence when I raced there two weeks later, and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to get up there prior to the event.

On the subject of accomodation, FoSC have sent through a room offer for the Mirvac accomodation that is adjacent to Conrod, just past the Chase. It appears to be a similar price to the motel I stayed at in town earlier in the year, and they also have larger suites and multiple bedroom units that might suit teams better.

I would really encourage those who are undecided about the event to take the plunge, and put their entries in next week, prior to the closing date.

I am on the FoSC mailing list as I presume most are, however if anyone needs any of the info forwarded to them, send me a PM with your email details and I'll forward it to you.

Prepare your car well, drive to your limit and let's all have the experience of a life time.

Regards

Ed

I agree.
I would not think about missing this magic opportunity.
This will also fulfill one of my childhood dreams.
If we all treat Bathurst with the respect it so obviously deserves then I see no reason why we can't all have a great experince.

I for one can't wait!

I wholeheartedly agree with both Ed & Troy, prepare your car well, drive well within your limit and you will have the most wonderful experience and i'm working flat out to have my car ready.

See you on the Mountain! :)

There are 29 entries to date and from what I can tell, two of those are regularity entries.

There are a total of 55 grid positions available and Charles will happily still accept your entry.

Where are all the Fords?

Chris,

That's a bit harsh, I kept it on the track and pointing in the right direction at the last meeting, AND all my doors/flares survived unscathed as well.

Nev is running in regularity, unless "Reg" is his middle name.

I was asking after the Falcons, Sierras and Mustangs.

Notwithstanding, there is a great cross section of cars, I'm looking forward to seeing the Dolomite, Alfa, Geminis plus a host of others running at the mountain again.

I know, I was talking to Nev last night about it. I just wanted to write "Big Rev Nev's Esky" at least once in my life.

There's still time to change your mind Chris. I got my acceptance email from Charles yesterday and apparently they'll still take late entries.

Sadly I have had to withdraw my entry, we just couldn't get the car finished in time. :(

Anyway, I already had the leave and accomodation booked and the organisers are screaming for officials, so i've decided to dust off my official's licence and stand on a corner waving flags at you blokes all weekend. I hope everyone has a great weekend and i'm already looking forward to joining you next time around.

I just turned the sound off. :D

I was just wondering, I think it was troy stapleton who had the barbagallo VL walkinshaw, if he could post up the race 1 incident where wayne clift crashed on skyline because apparently you have the whole crash on footage. He is pretty keen to see what happened as he cant remember much of it.

it would be much appreciated
thanks
