G'day all, I am a writer for Street Fords magazine and we are looking at doing some features on Ford Group C and Group A cars that are still in their original paint schemes etc.
If anyone is interested just let me know. We organise the photographer etc to work in with your schedule I just need a couple of pics of how the car looks now so I can get it approved.

Thanks Matt.

I know I'm thread mining, but it seemed more appropriate to reply than starting a new thread.

The historic race cars that we've run in Street Fords so far are;
SF68 - Wilmington's XC (shot at Marulan, which he also owns)
SF69 - The Army Reserve XD (found through here, thanks Frank)
SF71 - The B&H and Shell Sierras (from Bowden collection)
SF74 - The Bo Seton Capri (found through here, thanks Greg)
SF82 - The GSR chassis #7 EL (found through this site) and interview with G. Seton
SF86 - The 1984 Greens-Tuf XE (from Bowden collection)

If you missed the Army Res XD, the Sierras, the Greens-Tuf XE, or the GSR#7 EL, the good news is they will appear again on Dec 9th in a new mag called Real Race Cars (take a look at our FB group here www.facebook.com/groups/realracecars ).
The mag also has the Gibson chassis #5 GT-R, an HDT Gp C VK, the Perkins '97 Bathurst winning VS, and several state-level achievers and Touring Car Masters cars from recent times, plus a few interviews.

And on that subject, I'd like to put out another casting call, this time for the new mag.
We're looking for race cars of all makes for future issues of Real Race Cars, so please contact me if you're interested.

Thanks again for the responses folks. And, if anyone is having difficulty finding it on the shelf, it is now available through Magstore;

Thanks blokes, glad you both liked it. And yeah, we prefer tin-tops with a factory steel unibody for everything to be attached to, unless they admit to being a sports sedan, because we really like them too.
We just about finished the second issue before the Christmas break and will give a final check when we go back in January. I believe it's due out in March (slower production rate whilst we establish the title - should ramp up with the success of the first couple).

Here's a suggestion - maybe a section showing cars under restoration, this could be beneficial for owners trying to restore their cars that are seeking info & parts etc :)

Nice idea Coxy. In Super Fords, and others, we call that "In the Build". We could implement it into this mag for future issues if people are willing to contribute their projects.

On another note, the FB group now has a gallery showing each car, and some of the pics are additional to the actual shots used in the mag.

Hi Sam, I must admit given the thread title I thought the mag was going to be heavily biased if not solely Ford race cars? Have got myself a copy and it's great to see a wide variety of makes and cars featured.

As for some feedback it would have been great to include some more original pictures of the actual race cars in action. The skyline hitting the wall then winning the race while effectively sitting wrecked on the side of the track was such a monumental moment in the history of Bathurst you could not have scripted it, would have been great to see some pic's of it to jog the memory.

Also a little bit of "constructive feedback" some of the photos of the skyline are nice a crisp while others are heavily pixilated and I don't think should have made it into the mag? Not having a go just giving my honest opinion to help you succeed with the mag in the future. Best of luck with it. :)

Hi ht467,

I originally sent a message through the "Contact us" form asking if I could start a new thread, but got no reply so I decided to play it safe and post in an existing thread that was on another mag we do. Some of the cars came from Street Fords so I figured it was still relevant.
I'm glad you like the variety. Even though we're the "Ford and ute mags" team, EMG's resources allowed us to put plenty of different makes in it right from the first one.
It would be nice to show an archive pic from a race each was originally in, and we may do so in the future.
As for the GT-R, yes, we noticed that too. The low resolution samples were used by mistake on the detail shots. They looked fine on the low-res PDF that I check on my PC (of course it would), so I didn't notice either, until it was too late. :(
