VK group A Commodore tail shaft loop

Does anyone know if VK group A commodores need tail shaft loop for historic racing or does the two piece design negate the need?. If they do need it should they have 1 on each section of the tail shaft?

Might be pretty basic stuff to some but finding it hard to get a definative answer.

Cams have advised me that I need 2. Would be interested to see photos of what others have installed if anyone has any.
