I ran my last club event there on the 10th Jan 2010 and I was very sad in my last session to cross the line when they called time and we had to pack up and leave.

There were houses built right next to the track near turn two, this only confirmed for me that there was no turning back. To see these images has made me re-live the confirmation.

It was an emotional departure for all of us.

Like many thousands before me, I guess I am lucky enough to say I drove there.

I grew up 20 minutes from Oran Park & basically lived & breathed the place! From sitting on the hill as a kid to racing 250 Superkarts during the 90's. I made one last visit in September 2009 & you can see the toy I took along for the day in my Photo Album. I hope these pics will ease the pain of seeing those devestating images of the bulldozers taking away our playground.
