More news!! I spoke with Phil Harrison today who advised me we are getting garages, it appears that I didn't reeive a full set of papers.

Dave,
did you get that in writing or just hear say,
The forms say be considered for garage, We will not come up unless garages are allocated to C/A cars, These are expensive cars to be left out side with little or no security.

I spoke to Phil Harrison at the ARDC today about a related matter, and also sought clarification on the garage allocation issue.
The answer was, "any Group C & A car that completes a garage form and submits it with their enty shall be allocated a garage".
No more excuses Rod! See you there.

Yes, we get garages!! see you all there, it's my only outing for this year now, can't afford to do Lakeside (and M3s are to noisey anyway) or Sandown so I want to have a good meeting. Anyone interested in dinneron Friday night?? We're going to the A-League game on Saturday night.
Cheers

were gonna try and make it down this year for a run which should be good. should we run the same gear ratios as bathurst?
And finally is it a good track as we have never had a run down there. Im guessing by the 30 or so odd entries last year and year b4 means a yes?:D

There were actually 46 qualifiers last year, so yes, it is a popular event. It also attracts a big crowd, which adds to the atmosphere.
I can't give you a definitive answer on your ratios, as I don't have one of those fancy five speed gearboxes, however I run a lower ratio at Eastern Creek compared to Bathurst. 3.36 vs 3.08.

I run the same as Sandown and Phillip Island at the creek. At Bathurst I ran a 4.11 and at the creek I run a 4.37. I hope this helps.

hahaha but you have much stronger gear boxes and engines than us :P we think we'll run a 3:26 cos 3.08 will be to boggy out of the corners i rekon and 3.55 will have us out of puff half way down the straight.
but yes sounds really awesome and look forward to hopefully seeing you all there :D

What are "Touring Car Masters" and "Australian Touring Cars" races?
Is everyone eligible for the handicap race event?
Ovlov
16-08-2010, 05:11 PM
As the name implies, the handicap event is for vehicles representative of every ATCC winner. Nominations were called some time back. As the AVDT Volvo 240Ts all went back to Sweden at the end of '86 my privateer Volvo will be representing the '86 ATCC winner!

What are "Touring Car Masters" and "Australian Touring Cars" races?
"Touring Car Masters" is the name given to a group of cars which broke away from Group N Historics. The cars are modified beyond the linit of Group N regs and have 3D Sports Sedan logbooks. They run a National series, sponsored by Biante model cars, which supports several rounds of the V8 Supercars.

You're car, or one of it's sisters, would be eligible, as the 1990 ATCC winner.
Lindsay

Touring Car Masters = the group that broke away from N C that were origionally known as Biante. Big loud ballsy cars.
Ausie race cars = big Go Carts with motor cycle engines and fiberglass body.
Nothing partiularly muscular about them but they are entertaining to watch.
Its a bit sad that they have to pad out the program with something not realy relevant to muscle cars. The same as having V8 supercar merchandise trailers trying to suck a few more dollars out of the punters.
Kind of ironic given the V8's gave Eastern Creek the ass because it wasn't good enough for them.

If they need to pad the field, why not the Group Na guys. They seem to get left out alot

True, but Group Sb and Sc with the Shelby Mustang's, Sunbeam Tigers and Carrera Porsche's would get my vote to fill the void. Good cars and great racing.

Haven't got an entry list, but have heard numbers are around 40 thus far.
The late entry closing date is this Friday, 27th August, so there is still time for that last minute entry.
It would be good to see a capacity grid.

To all who competed at MCM, congratulations on some great racing, often in difficult conditions !!
The M3 went well, I had probably one of the best weekends of racing ever, we got home safely, and now looking forward to Sandown!
We have a Sandown organising committee meeting tomorrow night, where the schedule will be finalised, so I will let you all know about that this week..

Just wondering if your signature of "as it was, so it shall be" is an indication of your position on "cheat cars" ie. cars that got away with a deviation from the approve homolgation papers in the day?
