Age is a state of mind. Racing is a state of mind. So long you are this side of dead you're never too old to go racing, although I wouldn't suggest starting with a 500hp Camaro. Start with a Class A Mini, Mazda, Datsun, Toyota or similar. Remember Group C and its predecessor Production Touring are popular because of their diversity of makes and models. :)

There are heaps of people in Historic racing who never started racing until they were over 50!

Ditch the Harley, it'll only try to kill you. I'm sure a Group C tourer will put a bigger smile on your face and lead in your pencil :)

Age is no barrier - just do it!

I am amazed that no one has mentioned Bob Holden, he race against Noah in his Escort way back when Adam was still in nappies and is still circulating at 80+.
Call it your late mid life and buy a cheap club racer for about $5k, its the best fun you will ever have. Then when you feel you can, get into a historic class and help keep the old dreams alive............(J.L.)

Rod Markland, still at the pointy end at 69 or 70. As far as a mid, life crisis goes, don't make the same mistke as me and think that racing will be cheaper than a mistress, it isn't!!! The good part is though, that you don't have to sneak around to enjoy your mid life crisis.

And your race car won't mind if you like to drive someone else's race car occasionally. ;)
